About Faye

Faye McCray is an author, speaker, executive leader, journalist, and attorney whose work inspires people to redefine success and navigate change while remaining clear in vision.

She began her career practicing law in fast-paced, competitive environments. After nearly ten years in federal service, she made the decision to pivot into a new career. A judge she respected cautioned her, “If you leave, you may not be able to come back.”

Leaving behind the stability of a government job with three young children, a spouse, and a mortgage was not an easy choice. The transition came with a “messy middle” — years where her income dipped and results weren’t yet visible. But she leaned into resilience, vision, and the belief that growth often comes on the other side of discomfort. Within five years, she had tripled her legal salary and built a thriving new career in media and executive leadership.

Over the past decade, Faye has led content and communications strategy for some of the most recognized health and wellness brands, including Healthline, Psych Central, Healthgrades, Well+Good, and Livestrong. Her leadership has driven multimillion-dollar growth, built high-performing teams, and expanded the reach of brands to millions of people around the world. Faye was honored on the Cynopsis Digital <It> List for innovation and leadership in digital media and was named an Aspen Ideas Fellow.

She is the founder of Rest and Reclaim Retreats, curating experiences that give professionals space to reflect, recharge, and reimagine. She also serves as a small business consultant for Goldman Sachs, guiding entrepreneurs through moments of transition and growth.

A sought-after speaker, Faye brings her lived experience as a lawyer, journalist, and executive to audiences at SXSW, Ad Week, Reuters, ViVE, Aspen Ideas, and TEDx, where she delivered her talk You Were Never Meant to Be Just One Thing. Her insights have been featured on NBC News Now, Good Day NY, and Fox 5 DC, and her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, HuffPost, Parade, and more.
